Passion for Mother and Child had been in existence for about three years but was officially founded on 17 th February, 2014. It was as a result of one woman’s passion for single parents especially single
mothers who had to struggle through their daily lives just to put food on the table
for their children.
In her own small way she tried to help single women financially by training them in her catering school and emotionally by counseling them. This went on for years until she started the NGO.
We believe that more women can be helped to achieve much more for their
children through this training center.

One of our major goals is to train or educate every single parent that we come into contact with on how to build self confidence and to know how to deal with social challenges that come their way. Most at times, the society has a way of thinking that single parents are immoral and may use abusive words or make them feel unworthy which affects the children involved as well. So we aim to change the mindset of the single parent and educate the society by organizing seminars ,going to schools, churches etc on how best to help those single parents that are already going through so much to make ends meet. These training sessions will be organized quarterly and it will also include education on their health as well.
Secondly we will help them deal with their emotional needs in the sense that most of them became single parents through divorce, rejection by partners and partner’s irresponsibility, death of spouse and rape cases and they end up being scarred emotionally. This we will do by providing them with health personals and counselors to help them get over their past and by showering them with love and care so that they know they are being supported by people who understand what they have been through.
Another important goal is to equip them to stand on their feet financially by
Helping them acquire skills in catering, fashion designing, hairdressing cosmetology and
In formal education etc. This we will do by getting sponsorship from various
people and organizations who are willing and able and have a passion to make a transformation in
the lives of these women. We intend to set up a fund to help support them
and their children in various ways.

ONE YEAR PLAN
FIRST QUARTER OF RECRUITMENT
The year starts when batches of ten women have been gathered in one particular community. The first meeting will be introduction of the organization to the women and taking of particulars of family, health etc…
After meeting days have been established, programme will then start fully for the first quarter and this goes as follows
These sessions we believe are very essential to this ministry because it will help us know the struggles, hurts and pain these women have gone through so that we can know how to handle each individual uniquely. It will also help us know the circumstances that led to their role as single parents and the effect those experiences had left in their lives. This will help us identify the psychological effects on the children involved as well. This will also take between three weeks to a month by which we believe solutions would have been given to these women.
Identification of Vocations:
By the third month with all the above procedures being fulfilled, we believe the women will be fully prepared mentally and spiritually to make decisions without haste and with a clear mind. At this point they are encouraged to choose to learn a vocation depending on where their interests are. Those that want to trade are helped to research on the market to know what they can trade in to bring in maximum profit without incurring any cost unnecessarily.
The first month of this quarter is solely for enrolling the women into their various places of training and for those interested in trading, capital will be given. All that is needed in training will be provided for, and training starts within this month. There will be constant supervision to make sure beneficiaries are following programme without any misbehavior or laziness so that the main aim of this organization will be achieved.
Whilst training and trading is going on, there would be a monthly meeting schedule drawn to meet with the women and to find out if they have any concerns or problems concerning their training and if there are challenges being faced in the running of their home as mothers. These meetings would include counseling sessions to empower them and motivate them to be steadfast in their training and trading.
By the end of this quarter we want to see these women in training having a sense of ambition to complete their various trainings and to work hard in their various trades to establish themselves and their children for a better future.
In this same quarter we intend to make sure that all the children of these women who are of school going age are helped to enroll and stay in school with the help of our sponsors, so that the mothers can fully concentrate on their trades and vocations. This will also help the children stay away from the streets and from dangers of child molesters who easily lure children with gifts and money.
The children will also be taken through counseling periodically to erase any conclusions and ideas that are uncalled for. They would also be a time for them to share their experiences on how life had been for them growing in a one parent home and the challenges they faced. These issues and more would be addressed in the club which will be created for these young ones with the name,” ROYAL PRIESTHOOD”.
THE THIRD QUARTER
During this quarter, there is going to be a fund set up for the beneficiaries who are into trading to help them save into their business or trade. It is going to be in the form of an account which will be set up for each individual and daily savings or weekly savings made, amount depending on the kind of trade involved, so that at the end of the quarter, the money is put back into the person’s trade again in order to grow the business. This is to help the women in trade not to be tempted to take money out of their capital or profit until business has grown to a certain level. We have however not started with the trading aspect but hope to in the near future.
